SHOE PORN!!!

This photo totally constitutes shoe porn. I mean I literally want one of everything captured here, hell, maybe two. And what I like even more is there is an element of texture and color in every look. I can't explain why, but I'm on a major color kick these days and this just feeds my fancy. There's that mustard yellow I've been so into, and really bright colors and melon colors that are so spot-on for Summer, but I would wear any of these come fall. Well I would wear them actually any time of year, but you catch my drift. Plus all these ladies can walk in heels, which I haven't quite mastered yet. Just might print out this pic and paste it to the mirror in my bedroom. Maybe it'll manifest, like The Secret.

Street Style Inspiration for the Day

Aside from the distraction of her jumping, this adorable editor (who looks WAY young, I admit) might just be wearing the quintessential Summer outfit. I often wish I could pull off a jumper but it doesn't seem to want to work with me. So in the meantime, I just look at photos like these in envy. The print is what makes it work, it's so pretty. Plus it turns a design that could be beach-bound into a legit, dressed-up outfit. Those neutral tan heels were a great investment, since I guarantee she'll wear them for years and they'll "go with" everything she owns. The fabric of the jumpsuit on its own may be fussy, but she's dressed it down in such a cute, fresh way. It's parfait for Summer.

MUST-HAVE: Sheer Dress

I literally was JUST looking at pictures of models wearing uber-sheer skirts and I just decided that I love the look. I can't tell you if I'd ever wear it, but love it. Then I stumbled upon this very cool, transparent dress by none other than Tory Burch, who I am realizing more and more can really surprise you sometimes. It's that whole nightgown as daygown type of situation and I love that you can really do anything underneath. You could wear a nude slip to let the silhouette of the dress really stand out or you can wear some neon underpinnings to go for a much bolder look. The neutral color almost acts as a canvas for you to do whatever with. You can use the dress as the focal point or the background so other things can pop. I am really loving how it's feminine but in the strangest, unconventional way. Always my faves.

New Blog to Bookmark: Advanced Style

Now this is one of the most clever concepts for a blog I've maybe ever seen. I hate to admit it, but sometimes (just sometimes), I can learn a thing or two by looking to more "mature" audiences. My grandmother is pretty stylish and I love having lunch at Neimans on the weekend because the crowd is really something spectacular. But there is something about a woman of a certain age. If nothing else, she loves color (they all seem to), and they are pretty damn certain about what they like...they know what works best for them. Which, frankly, we could all aspire to. This blog spotlights some stylish older ladies. And as much as we think we've got it all figured out (cough cough), taking a closer look at them really shows us that they've got a trick or two up their sleeve.

SPOTTED at Paris Fashion Week

I think that when it comes to street style photography, this is actually my favorite time of year. It's so hot that people have to start getting creative and they can't just layer on coat after coat like they do during winter--which btw, makes it WAY harder to tell what they're wearing. I was actually just perusing a mustard yellow knit skirt for Fall today (I know, dreadful, but I'm sure I'll regret it if I don't get it) and then I stumbled on this breezy pic from Paris. Denim shirt? Check! Now I just need some killer snakeskin shoes (ones that i can walk in, pls) and a flouncy skirt (I think any bright color would do). I love how her looks is so casual because of the denim but the heels totally dress it up. She'd be right at home walking around Paris, going to a fashion show, or even making a cameo at a big soiree. Tres chic, indeed.

Fit for a Queen

To say that I am obsessed with Kate Middleton would be a gross understatement. Aside from her sensible pumps that I'm not a huge fan of, I think she has a flawless record when it comes to what she wears. Pippa is a bit racy, but Kate is classy, elegant, and has she got a nose for fashion. I love the site's that track her every move, and I admit the photo diaries of her every outfit on the recent Canadian tour are awesome. Frankly, there should be some OTB for predicting who she's going to wear next. Anyhoo, Vogue took a cue from the royal lady with some inspirations of what Kate could wear, or what we could wear if we wanted to look every bit as sophisticated. I love this flouncy Topshop dress. The pleats dress it up and the small Peter Pan collar is whimsical, and reminds me of my elementary school uniform. The color is perfect for Summer's hot days and would look great with some black opaque tights or even midnight navy tights come fall. The Royal treatment, indeed.

MUST-WATCH: Mulberry at 40

It's no secret that I love Mulberry. What started out with totally "I need them now" handbags has turned into an entire collection that is spearheaded by some of the loveliest ladies I've ever met. After spending some time with them over Coachella, I was more enamored than ever, which is why I was jazzed when I saw they made this awesome video to celebrate their 40th birthday. Though we in the states prob think of them as a newish brand, they've been dazzling for four centuries now with durable leathers and awesome designs that are as timeless as their heritage. This video speaks to the brand's awesome sense of humor and utter deligthfulness. It may be anti-4th of July, but here's to hoping that these Brits invade the US with even more of their awesome designs.
